Replit AI is Replit’s integrated AI coding system inside its browser-based IDE, the Replit Workspace. It centers on Replit Agent, an AI builder that turns natural language into working apps and websites, with a lightweight Lite mode (formerly Fast Mode, which superseded the separate Replit Assistant in late 2025) for quick, scoped edits in context.

In the Workspace, Replit Agent can set up your environment, install dependencies, run code, and generate working applications that you can deploy, all through a chat workflow. Agent’s Lite mode (formerly Fast Mode) handles quick, scoped changes — visual tweaks, small bug fixes, and targeted edits — while Economy and Power modes step up cost and capability for larger builds.

Agent has three modes, Lite, Economy, and Power, plus an optional Turbo toggle inside Power for the fastest runs on Pro and Enterprise plans. Across modes, Agent can apply approved code changes, manage packages, update databases, and roll back edits via checkpoints. For security reasons, Assistant can’t access secrets stored in Replit’s Secrets manager.
